HURRICANE PROCEDURES

TO: ALL RESIDENTS


THE BARRIER ISLAND IS A CATEGORY 1 STORM EVACUATION AREA. IF A HURRICANE EVACUATION ORDER IS ISSUED BY BROWARD COUNTY YOU ARE OBLIGATED BY LAW TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. THOSE WHO REMAIN DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK AND SHOULD KNOW:

1 - Local emergency services do not have to respond to calls;
2 - All power in the building will be shut down which means
NO WATER
NO AIR CONDITIONING
NO LIGHTS
NO ELEVATOR SERVICE
3 - There will be no staff present.

These steps are necessary to protect the building systems from potential serious damage which could prevent occupancy for several weeks after a storm.
